Considering getting an intake

I dont want the baddest car on the block, but it would be good to get a little more kick outta my strat. I'm considering getting a cold air intake since it seems like a pretty easy mod to do and doesnt require much as far as tools go. If I can improve gas mileage and horsepower, I think the mod would be worth it. Will adding it really make a noticeable difference or is it just a cool noise maker as far as 1st gen strats go?
Secondly and probably more important: Are there any adverse effects of having an intake in the long run? Does it need any maintenance in cold wet weather? |
