family dog died this morning

Yup our family dog died this morning in my moms arms. My mom wanted the dog to die in her arms. My mom said the vet people drained some fluid from around her heart and it came right back after x mas. She was doing better at x mas too, everyone saw her. She was being very loving at x mas also. Everyone held her. Last night she was having a hard time breathing and she died this morning. my mom held her all night and she died this morning. I think the dog knew she was dying so thats why she was so loving the last few days. She was 11 or 12 yrs old. Im having a really hard time dealing with it right now.

She dog was an obvious blessing while still in this world and now she leaves you with the best possible memories she could have made for you.

It's a good thing to mourn this loss and when you can, you'll remember the good stuff with a smile.

Sorry man... I've got two dogs that I'm very attached to and I don't know what I'm going to do when they die... I'm really sorry man.... You come to love them as much as a person.... At least you'll ALWAYS have memories. No one can ever take those from ya... Remember the pet... but move on. There's nothing worse than dwelling on it... I know, easy for me to say, just trying to give some advice.

But atleast she is not suffering anymore and I agree you have the memories and they can never be taken from you. When I was 3yrs old I got my first dog and had him for 15 years before I had to put him to sleep,and as a constant reminder of all the fun we had I have a tattoo of a headstone with his name and dates on my right arm. thanks guys. My mom and stepfather buried her yesterday. Stepdad built a coffin for her. She is buried somewhere around the house, dunno where. Problly go see tomorrow. I heard what happened was that my parents sat down on the couch and she came over to them like she always does and my mom picked her up, she layed next to them and died. I wish i had been there! Well i get to see my friend christine tomorrow so thats a good thing.

just an update guys i havent been thinking about it since it happened that much, which is problly a good thing! I have been going on with my life, but i will never forget her! its still wierd when i go up to the house and shes not there abrking and what not but life goes on.

I had a 120lb Husky/shepard mix when I was 15.I got up one morning and my mom told me there was someting wrong with the dog he was acting weird and stumbling.Later that day he fell right over ontop of me.We went to the Vets later that day or the next and the Vet said he had been having strokes we had to have him put to sleep that day.Don't think I ever cryed more in my life.
But just because you loss one,don't give up on animals theres another one that needs a home.You can't replace your old dog but you can make a new freind.
After that I got a puppy that I've had for 8yrs now and he's crazy as hell and fun.A whole new personality.
