13.70 stock SRT-4 "Mopar Magazine"

This months mopar magazine they tested a Neon SRT-4 and they turned a 13.70 at something like 108mph. Thats mid 13's bone stock could you imagaine with some bolt=ons what this car could do and all for $19,995, i dont know if the rebate will apply to the SRT, but if it does then shave another $2,000 grand of as well.

They also ran it against the suburu WRX and the SRT smoked it in the 1/4, and in braking and in everything else, it was a joke.

no the SRT-4 kicked the WRX's rear end in all areas, that car is a stud no doubt about it

My Wife has already taken the Insurance check from her Dak to the dealership and put in an Order for one

wow turner your lucky. I might have one in maybe like 5 yrs LOL. Im working on getting a pickup truck this yr, then a dirt bike, then other things for a bigger apt or something, laptop computer, and i might be moving to georgia. Monthly payments on truck, dirt bike for next few yrs if I do it. Then apt bills and going out money and stuff. My car will last me another 3-4 yrs at least. Srt-4 are expensive anyway. I think the r/t and srt-4 have better packages anyway. And who needs a srt-4 for traveling around town and small road trips anyway? Your only paying for a better engine, and a short throw shifter as far as I know. I can live with a 132 hp neon or 150 hp r/t. Just my 2 cents.

How about the nice flat torque curve and the fact the actual numbers on what the engine produces is more than the turbo pt. To move a 2900 lb. car that fast it has to more than the 215 hp. For under 20,000; it has to be the best bang for your buck by far. The fact that the intercooler is a 7 row unit means that adding a pulley will be the only thing you need to get you on the way to pushing over 300 hp. I like it but wouldn't buy one because it's just too small of a vehicle for my tastes.

Yeah, they said the WRX launched better, but after 1,000 feet the neon pulled on the WRX like a viper on a school bus, and at then end of a 1/4 mile the WRX has a nice view of the neon's back end, and at the end of the 1/2 mile the WRX can hardly even see the neon

Ive heard that the 2003 or 2004 WRX STI will produce 300 HP.

Remember FWD against AWD. A bit of a difference when it comes the power robbing drivetrain.

Though I'm real happy that it will "kill" most of those Japanese buzz saws out there.

To bad there only making 4,500 of them this first run.

srt 4 kicks ass period. and i thought my se was pwerful with 132hp and 130 torque- still better then a good majority of other small cars esp rice burners...

I am hearing through allpar.com they have decided to build 7,000 this year.

My Resources say they are building up to 7000 if and only IF they get that many orderes for them

that makes alot of diffrence right there, AWD is gonna eat up alot more power in the drivetrain then a FWD car will anyday..

i dont think it was to fair to the SRT-4 either that they raced it against the WRX STATIONWAGON.. cmon now.. thats even heavier so naturally the SRT-4 is gonna win that race cmon now.. ya know damn well they aint gonna run it and print it losing against anything, dont ya think.. cmon now.. id like to see the SRT-4 run against the WRX Sedan, i think that would be more of a fair race... of course thats jus my $.02
