Does anyone have a suggestion. I purchased a 2004 Stratus SXT with 4 cyl engine and automatic trans. Brand new, 7 miles on the odometer, but obviously sitting on the lot for a looooooonnnnnnnngggg time--dust all over under the hood, wasp nests in the trunk lid and door hinge, should have been suspicious. Drove fine for 2 hours, enuf to get it home, then started jerky accelleration. In drive, in 1st, any gear. Engine winds up a bit, hesitates, winds faster, hesitates, winds faster. Works fine at cruising speeds, but hesitates when it is punched.
I drove it for 4 days to use up what might have been bad gas, added a can of heet and premium gas at dealer's suggestion, no improvement. Took it back to dealer, he kept it 3 days, replaced control module, mass oxygen sensor, put conditioner into trans (in case solenoids aren't working right) and drained gas and replaced. Said it was ok, drove it home and it still jerks when I accellerate. Any suggestions. Should I demand a new car? HELP! |
