I just bought and used Accelerator from lonewolfperformance.com. It raised 5 gallons of 91 to 105 octane, I added 5 additional degrees of spark advance and 25 psi boost and no knock was recorded on the scanner, All that from a quart can. It was just about 79.00 per 6 can case. Nice to have a can in the trunk just in case I wanna get heavy footed.

dose the can say whats is in it because that seems a little outrageous that quart would have to have an octane of 385 to give you those results i know they use toluene and xylene in most octane boosters and they only have an octane rating of 114 and 117 respectively. if it dose what it claim thats amazing but I'm skeptical

the octane booster that i see on the self only raises 1 octane level, 93 to 94. it says will raise 10 points, one point being equal to .1 octane. is this the level it raises "points" not actual octane. It should say in the fine print. The one i am talking about is 0-60 octane booster. I think that is the name.

Ive used this product for 2 years. It raises 91 pump gas to 105 motor octane. I run it in my turbo car at 25 psi with 16 degrees advance at 25 psi and the data logger has NO knock and no spark retard.
The off the self boosters are junk and you are correct about the 1 point = .1 in octane. This is esentially a concentrate of the additive package they use to bring up octane in unleaded race gas. Its also available in leaded formula as well. I got mine from lonewolfperformance.com, if it didnt work I wouldnt run it iun my car, esepcially at 25 psi boost. |

race gas concentrates on the market too. 16oz cans that raise octane to 100+. Guys on the NASIOC board (Subaru wrx and STi) forums use. I'll get the name of the product. In the long run it's more expensive than Toulene but alot less hassle.

If you say make 5 gallons of 105 Octane, the Torco is less expensive, safe for the fuel system and has a better burn than Tolulene as well as being more convienient.
It would take 3 gallons of Tolulene and 2 gallons of 91 pump gas to make 5 gallons 105. With Torco you use 1 can to 5 gallons, plus you get the benefite listed in the first paragraph. Tolulene doesnt have lubricity agents and its harder on the fuel system. Also the flame tail on the burn is really weird and not good for combustion. |
