hello. i finally got my rimes and tires today. i ended up getting 18'*7.5 Tenzo Racing Rims with Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position 235-50R18s. the question is how bad are summer performance tires in the winter season? is it better than stock tires with barely any tred left?
here are some pics:

Although I am running a Neon I can awnser your tire question. I Normally run 18" wheels and a 235/40ZR18 Falkin tire but since I have to drive my Neon for the time being I have put the Stock wheels (since I have yet to upgrade to 15" rotors) with a good all weather tire due to the Hi-Performance tire is not good in snowy/icy weather

angldrkns9,

In NY, like in PA, you'll need a tire with a M/S rating (mud and snow) for this time of year.

And just about any high performance tire (street not strip) will give you better stopping power than another with "barely any tread left".

But, for my ride, I insist upon safety as the tire is the only place of contact designed for the road... well maybe except for the passenger ejection seat, Mr. Bond
