today i was reading the local news paper and found an interesting add.
FOR SALE!
red 1984 dodge D250 3/4 ton w/canopy. 2wd, 318 w/ 4 spd man. new tierods, body work done on box. insurance taken off as of mar 04. only real problem is MANUAL steering is worn. $550 cash

my question is. is it worth it. and how hard would it be to convert to power steering?

manual steering?
If you can find all the parts in a junk yard, probably under $150.
The truck should have all the mounting locations on it, youll just have to note where each part came from.
If you go new or reman parts, your looking probably about $400 give or take $20-$50.
A steering box last I checked was running about $300 for a reman with core, and a (NEW) power steering pump was $55 with a core.
The actual work itself, isnt hard, Ive had all mine off and on and stuff in short order.
Get the box, and the pump, and it would probably be safest to get everything from the steering shaft, to the draglink.
Careful hunting in junkyards might even land you near new parts.
