Hey everybody,
I haven't been on for a long time so I haven't kept up to date very well. I just finished body work on my 78 3/4 ton and I have to say that having never done any bodywork ever, man, its a lot of work! Things seem to be pretty good though, not being a show truck or anything. Just wanted to change the colors pretty much, earth tone brown (rust) and faded factory green to citron nut (metalic green) but currently primer grey. Almost every major part has been replaced. Lower front fender corners, rockers, outside door skins, inside door panels, and wheel arches on the box, and cab corners. I guess the next step is upgrades. My questions are very open ended and am more then happy to see all options and ideas. Its a 3/4 ton yes, with 1 ton suspension, but even half tons hover over my baby. What can I do?! Would it be worth it to lift a 2 wd or just the biggest tires that will fit? Its not going to be an off roader, so I don't see the need for 4 wd, but obviously I'll lock the rear end. Price is worth durability and trouble free maintence. I was also thinking of higher gears then the 4.10 thats in it now. Keep in mind that I'm making this into a toy more then a daily driver but I would also like the ability to take it to school and work now and then. Nothing totaly radical is nessesary, but just something bigger! Any ideas are welcome. All will be appreciated. Thanks, Brooks

Superlift, and Skyjacker make lifts for it.
I think Black Diamond might as well.
You can still get visors for them from lund.(about $160)
Im still trying to find the side window visors for mine. But theyre hard to find.
Ive been a lot of places in two wheel drive, with either open difs or posis. and clearance would have been helpful.
A mild lift shouldnt cause many, if any serious issues. Other than raising the COG.
If your not planning serious usage offroad, a factory lift block, Ive seen 1", 2" and 3" on various dodge trucks, and a coil spacer for your front. Though youd have to make sure you could adjust you steering geometry properly.

I'd recommend heading over to http://www.ramchargercentral.com. There is A TON of information over there about these vehicles.

Just do a search there and you'll find more than enough answers. Also, you may find their how-to section interesting. and informative.

put a body lift on it. that'll raise the body up enough to fit 35's in the rear, and at least 33's in front. 4.88 gears w/ a locker would be killer.

If I do get bigger tires and rims, were can I find them with an 8 lug pattern? Probably polished aluminum?
