Alright Most of ya have more than like seen my old Neon

For those of you who haven't it was all customized and ran mid 12 Second 1/4 Miles

Now I am doing a new one and don't know if I should make it Show and Go like the last one or make a sleeper out of it with maybe some rims and Big bore Muffler only and keep it at stock hight and no body Mods

I am a hug fan of the sleeper! Especially when it comes to cars that arent known for being fast from the factory!

An example of this would be my buddies 1980 4dr Malibu........with a '87 GN setup under it! THis thing runs 12's all day long! It is great....he also has a plan jane dull silver '84 regal with regular hub caps and all but that runs 12's as well with another GN drivetrain! I love sleepers that gets my vote!

2 for sleeper

I would do something to the exterior but nothing close to looking like a ricer - that's an easy thing to look like in a neon because of its compact size. I'd go for maybe a custom "SPORT" graphic but nothing too loud... just enough to tempt them to call you out and have them suspect you are basically stock... especially if it will remain a daily driver.

If it will not be a daily driver, then do all the stuff your heart desires - as a daily driver though, you could still do many interior changes and still look somewhat stock from the inattentive eye.

The only exterior mods I'm doing beside what I've listed below will likely be a two inch rear drop and a DODGE 4x4 emblem in American flag decor for the tailgate... hoping I can get the graphic to simply peel onto the existing badges to give it a somewhat stock looking fit. Other stuff will be under the hood where it counts for some "mild" performance improvements... it's a matter of the amount of ca$h at hand... then again, my truck is a daily driver.

Tuner, the day is only just begun and it's only been two votes... see how it plays out... besides man, YOU are the re-creator of your ride. The new neon needs to please YOU and no one else unless you want it that way

As for my Ram, when I'm all said and done, I know that I will take great pleasure in the idea that I know exactly what my truck can do and it has nothing to prove to any street racer - it will simply look like a nice truck but will happen to be one that moves "just a bit" faster than bone stock.

Tuner,

I would have to go sleeper. The look on the other persons face is so much different if they do not expect it.

thing is as long as my car is fast I don't care how it looks, I am happy

Dodge Freak

yeah that is true, I can remeber losing to a 53 Chevy Farm truck (I thought) in my Hopped up 71 Charger. Little did I know it actually had a highly worked over 454 with 2 mufflers per side and skinny tires that turned out to be Hoosiers. I looked so dumbfounded it wasn't funny

I would go 'sleeper' that is 'trying to look like rice'. I mean the muffler, a nice set of rims and maybe some tinting.

'They' think you are trying to be cool but can't afford it...then you let them have the privilage of seeing your taillights

TheKas 1995

Dragon that was what I was going to do since I have to put the big bore muffler on anyways due to the power I am running. I have the motor from my old neon in this one so I know already this car is a 12second 1/4 mile car

Scott yeah it only took a couple days to get the motor in my Neon.

I saw the most PATHETIC Ricer wannabe today, a 2dr Ford tempo with the big wheels, lowered, Big Bore Muffler and what I like to call a huge Sprint Car Wing on the back of it.............GOD I want to get my Neon on the street FAST

I bet you would have enjoyed every minute of abuse that would have been handed over to that guy I came across a sharp looking import tonight.....it was a pretty new honda accord coupe...had dual big-bore mufflers actually sounded and looked pretty nice only had the windows tinted and the exhaust.

As I rolled past him and stopped at the light he jumped the car to the line and revved it pretty hard at me....so I looked over and couldnt see anything through the dark tinit but I did notice a monster tach on the dash and pllar gauges so I figure he had to have somehtign done so what the hell! Light changes I send the tires ablast(of course...cant get a decent launch after the last mods and this cold weather!) he got a half a car length on me but by the other side of the intersection I was right back nose to nose and walked him after that.....I was still impressed with that little car! But of course I got the typical ricer FLY BY!!! I actually just laugh now when I get the fly by cuz it usually means I just spanked him anyway

Just thought I would tell someone

GET THAT NEON BACK ON THE ROAD SO YOU CAN GO BACK TO EATING CIVICS!!!!!

Scott my Neon should be on the road Monday after I take it down to get the Exhaust done on it, I am thinking of splitting the Pipes and putting Dual Big Bore mufflers, what ya think? Should I spend the extra $$$$$$ or just stay with the single one. The car is getting better springs and is only being lowered about half an inch from factroy but that is all I am doing to the looks except the 18"wheels, tailights and Blue underbody Neon

you should do it up a lil bit, not too "ricer" but not bone stock on the outside either, i like the happy medium

TheKas I am going to do like Dragon said and go Sleeper looking like a Ricer that can't afford to finish it with the mufflers, wheels and lowering it about 1/2 inch, maybe some small graphics

I think that would be cool Tuner....as for the dual big bore mufflers, if it is needed for yourpower level then do it but if it is just for looks then I say save your money and buy something that you will gain from. I am a horrible person to ask these question to......I cant buy anyhting for my truck unless it is producing some hp's! I am trying to talk myself into some superbee stripes to go around the back of my bed but at $35 I could save up a few more dollars and get a shiftkit

Now you know where I am coming from

Scottcba1 save up and get the shift kit, then start saving to get the superbee stripes painted on. I personaly hate the look of stickers on the paint and when you run your hand down the side you can feel it there. Plus paint will last longer then stickers and I think stickers are a tad bit to ricey for a pickup as nice as yours.
