1979 Powerwagon questions

Hey everyone...new user here but devoted Dodge fan. To explain my devotion, my granmother gave me her 1979 Dodge Powerwagon 200 a couple years ago. She bought it new and it was her pride and joy. She called it "Macho". Since I took it, I have been loving it. It's not pretty - two tone tan/brown - but this thing is a monster off the road. I have been up steep rock embankments with this thing, with my camper on the back! I have not run across any terrain old Macho can't handle. It is my hunting machine. I do have some questions that maybe some of you salty Dodge dogs can answer:

1) I was told this truck is a 3/4 ton. Is this true?
2) How do I know if I have the warlock package (and what is the warlock package)?
3) Can anyone tell me an easy way to get this thing out of 4 wheel drive? Are there actual instrucitons anywhere?

This truck is awesome. It takes me on 4 hour freeway trips and up into serious hills for hunting with no probs. My grandma did say she put a 360 engine in it.

warlock package, check your vin number against the dealer registry.
It should have, fancy scroll work graphics, wagon wheel rims (spoke), and a stepside bed, if Im not mistaken. I believe they also had low wooden siderails on the bed, as well.
The warlock package was mainly an "accessory" thing. There were various configurations, and engines and such, but the graphics, rims, and sideboards were part of it.
I believe an additional option was also side stacks, similar to the Lil Red, but not integral to the actual warlock package.
W200 sinifies a 3/4 ton, four wheel drive(d200-2 wheel drive)

you should have an NP 203 or 208 transfer case., all you should have to do is move your shift lever for your transfer case till you find 2 wheel high.
On the 208 case, its all the way forward, on the 203, its either one up from neutral, or all the way forward, I dont remember for sure.
The front axle is most likely a "full-time" axle, meaning the front hubs never disengage.

When my grandma gave me the truck she had a handwritten note in it that explained how to get this beast out of 4wd. It had something to do with going in reverse for a few feet. Of course I lost the note.

Where can I find that dealer registry you are talking about?

Thats the color of my truck and I think it's purty on my 79 W150 the way I do it,stop truck put trans. in neutral take transfer out of 4wd,put trans. in rev. back up a few ft.,put her back in dr. and go.

You will never get your truck out of 4wd because your truck has full time 4wd. If you don't believe me, look at your transfer case gear diagram. It should read 4 lo-loc, 4 lo, neutral, 4 high and 4 high loc. the transfer case had a ratio differential in it meaning when you are not in high loc or lo loc, your truck won't "bind" on harder turns because the transfer case will compensate and take away where necessary. When you are in the loc gears, it's like being in any other 4wd, a direst same ratio of power going to all 4 wheels. Full time 4wd systems were all you could get between 1975 and 1979 and on the 1974 Ramchargers also. Part time systems came back in the 1980 model year.
Macho Power Wagons and Warlocks were only available on half ton models. Side stacks like on the Little Red Express were never available on the Warlock.

You are the man... I always thought this thing was full time 4wd...I was worried I was ruining my truck by always being in 4wd. So...now to make you think I am a complete moron...I want to be in "Hi" for everyday driving, right?

As mentioned by Catawba Scott above these are full time 4wd,what I was explaining was how to unlock it, which can be hard sometimes. Sorry for the misunder standing.
