rear end ratios for 2014 3500 Diesel

My accountant informed me Friday that I need buy a new truck this year. I currently have a 2012 3500 CD SRW in Outdoorsman trim running 3:92 gears. According to the information I have read the Outdoorsman is no longer offered in the 3500 and all SRW 3500s will have 3:42 gears.

This concerns me as this truck will have a service body and will pull trailers up to
the limits of the truck.

Anyone have input on the higher gears and effect on pulling??

According to the 3.42's dropped the max tow down to 21k and some change.

The AISIN in a SRW 3500 only allows for 3.42's. The AISIN with 3.73 or 4.10's require the DRW option, or at least that's all that was allowed when trying to build one on the Ram website.

I just ordered a 2014 3500, 4x4, sb, srw crewcab laramie with cummins and aisin transmission and the only gear ratio available was the 3:42. I figured they were probably doing this for gas mileage averages for the government. I would have preferred 4:10, but will see how they work first pulling my Jeep with my camper on the truck.
