I appreciate the input. However, I only take it off while in my neighborhood which is a rather larger neighberhood..so back to the question, does anyone know how to disable the alarm?

This seems to come up every few months. There are a lot of situations where you don't need a seat belt and the damn dinger just annoys the hell out of you. The one that bugs me the most is at the boat ramp. I don't need my seat belt to launch my boat. I also don't wear a seat belt when I'm playing offroad without the danger of being ejected. Disabling the dinger is the first thing I do in a new vehicle, yet I still wear my seat belt when I should.

Having said that, it should be the same as previous years. This still worked on my 2014 Jeep.

Get in and buckle the seat belt. Turn the ignition to ON without starting. Unbuckle and buckle the seat belt 3 times within 10 seconds ending with it buckled. Turn ignition to OFF and you should hear a single chime. If not, repeat the process. I have found that taking the full 10 seconds works better than trying to do it all fast.

You forgot a step or two. If you have the accessory that stays on after you turn the key off you must open the door right away after turning the key off. Also, after Buckling the seat belt and turning the key on YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE SEATBELT LIGHT to turn off before starting the unbuckle rebuckle part.
