5.7 vs 6.4 Torque Curves

Does anyone know where I can find the torque curves for the 5.7 and 6.4 truck engines. I assume that the 6.4 would have slightly more bottom end torque but I'd like to see the curve.

Bottom End Torque

MEXI
The SRT 6.4 certainly does but I haven't seen anything on the truck motor.
More Torque is a good thing, NO ??
More Bottom end and Mid Range Torque is exactly what the Power Wagon seems to need. "NO Replacement for Displacement" ?
Not always I guess, Force Feeding (i.e. Turbo charging or Blower) is one alternative.

I don't own a Power Wagon (Yet) so this is a bit of a guess or assumption on my part.
I believe that the 5.7 is just not quite enough for the Power Wagon. I guess it depends on what it is being used for and where it is driven.
I live in Northern California. We have some rather steep grades and High Mountains here. Mix that with Hot Temps and you get some pretty thin air.
It can really tax a truck motor especially when pulling a heavy load.
Several owners have reported issues with transmission hunting (especially when pulling a grade or bucking a head wind).
I've also heard owners say that when pulling a trailer into the hills, they had to slow down, drop a few gears, spin the motor and watch the temp gauge.

Gods of the Ram, We needs MO Torque, Please Give us Sum Mo Torque.
Maybe our prayers have been answered.

Jim

The 6.4 hp/torque curve numbers have not been published yet, but overall the Hemi engine does just fine in a PW, and is on-par if not better than, the competitors heavy duty gas V8's.

Also the PW's 4.56 gears help make-up for the the extra weight of the PW and work great for moderate towing and off-roading in a fully loaded truck.

The Hemi will work for heavy towing but you need to be realistic and not expect it to tow like a diesel.

Here are the specs.

[2005-2008 5.7 Hemi]
Horsepower = 345
Torque = 375

[2009-2013 5.7 Hemi VVT (2500/3500 engine only)]
Horsepower = 383
Torque = 400

[2014 6.4 Hemi (truck)]
Horsepower = 410
Torque = 429 (manual transmission is limited to 410 lb-ft torque)

### For Comparison Purposes ###

[2014 Chevy 2500/3500 Vortec 6.0L VVT V8]
Horsepower = 360
Torque = 380

[2013 Ford 250/350 6.2L FFV V8]
Horsepower = 385
Torque = 400

Your right it was the body style change that was a year behind the 1500's not the engine, I mistakenly had the 1500 horsepower and torque numbers they are lower in a 2500/3500, both have been corrected above...

I'm sure the potential is there, auto makers usually de-tune heavy duty gas truck engines for reliability reasons.

Talking

The new 6.4 is not the same 6.4 in the cars. It's alittle different from what I read. It's a bored and stroked 5.7 truck motor.

I have an '08 PW, and I pull a 9,000 lb camper. When it comes to hills. I pull down a gear, and let the Hemi spin. The Hemi is a rpm motor. It don't like to be lugged.
