After many attempts and lots of $$$ spent on parts and programmers to gain better fuel economy I finally gave up. Best I could do with rcsb and 33's was 16.1.

Suweet man! Hopefully you can still find a dpf delete and tuner for a reasonable price, since the epa started to crack down on that.

My quad cab RAM is getting 21 mpg hwy and averaging 16 mpg city. No way I would go to diesel for fuel savings with the cost of diesel right now. The cost vs. fuel savings doesn't make sense for me at this point.
The Powerstroke will usually average you around 21 mpg combined so thats not too bad considering you were 16mpg in your reg cab....which to be honest sounds odd. Enjoy the Powerstroke, good looking trucks and I like your color choice. ![]()

My hemi sucked gas no matter what. Tb, cai, exhaust and bullydog that gave me 0.8 better. I was spending $800 a month on fuel alone. 4 fill ups at $50-$75 each per week. Now with my diesel ill get 700 miles each tank for $115. So from 400-450 per 2 weeks to 250. Without any mods yet!!!! I've seen 25-27 mpg with a pop-pop foot. Even 20 rolling coal!!!! Plus the mileage I do is extreme. Bought hemi in feb of 12 and sold with 25k miles.

The new Ford's are nice, you should enjoy it. I am recently back into a Ram (2013 Ram) from a 2011 ecoboost. Half ton Ram is just more solid than the F150.

Very nice, I like them all. Is the EPA starting to crack down on people taking the emissions stuff off? I'd like to get my exhaust done, but I'm not really sure about taking off the pollution controls.

No secrets, 2wd, 3.92's, I live in Florida so there are not a lot of inclines and don't drive my truck like a raped ape. I average 15mpg towing my 17ft boat. lol

Nice Ford, nothing wrong with that. Just think of all the new mods that you can do. Enjoy!!
I would never knock someone else's choice. Ford, Cheby, Nissan, whatever floats (or pulls) your boat. There really is no basis in saying one engine breaks more, one truck rusts faster, one looks better, etc. I'd sooner knock someone for buying a 3500 dually when the heaviest thing they would ever haul is a six-pack, then instantly join the forum and ask about increasing the mpg. That, in my mind, is a mistake. Brand choice is just that, a choice. I've often thought of going to a 2500 diesel but I just cannot substantiate it. I do tow a 20'+ trailer, but not often enough.I haul my quad around on wknds but but the 1500 handles it fine. Four-wheeling? Got a CJ-7 and a quad, and Rhino with tracks, that's covered. And the math on the fuel costs never come out on my side. Drive 30K a year and maybe save $1000, which with increased maintenance costs and added initial costs would take me 7-8 years to break even. To me that is too long. Hell I'll get bored of it by then.

I had a 2011 Ford F450 and loved it, got better MPGs than my Ram...but the price of diesel just push me out of it. I miss it, it was a great truck. You picked a nice truck...enjoy!
