It says it will only work with 3 vehicles. Why wouldn't it work with the Ram? I called and they said if it didn't work they would take it back no problem. This is for a 2012 Ram without factory nav.

That is insanely expensive! Why not just swap out the factory headunit with a nice aftermarket? Cameras are dirt cheap...

Check out Sonicelectronix.com. You can get a nice Pioneer touch screen with everythign you need to install it, including steering wheel interface, for $373.97. Then just pick up whatever kind of camera you want. There are several options on where to install the camera and it depends on what kind of view you are looking for, but you can get them for about $25 on Amazon.

Did you see the pic with the "Made in China" sticker on it? Probably cost them less then $50 to make the thing and they are selling it for over $400? I say pass.

I bought the factory one for my truck since I have nav, and it was $250 or so. This is for my brother and he wants to keep the factory radio, so that is my dilemma.

So I did some shopping on Crutchfield. The Kenwood receiver is $290. Add the PAC RP4 interface for the steering wheel controls (among other things), the Sirius tuner for Kenwood, and a cheap backup camera and I am at $460. Plus the potential of having to pay for an install. Seems the mirror with camera is the cheaper route.

You're going to pay too much shopping at Crutchfield. I buy almost all of my stuff from sonicelectronix.com. Amazon is also a good place to compare prices on the harnesses.

I'm a huge fan of Pioneer. The first link below is the newer model of the headunit in my truck, minus the Bluetooth. The second is the same unit I installed in my father in laws truck. My wife's Charger also has the older model to the one in the second link. They are all great headunits.

That first unit is $5 more on crutchfield. The problem lies in the Sirius antenna and the steering wheel controls - they're expensive. Did you install yours yourself? If so, was it difficult? Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using AutoGuide.Com Free App
