No more battery upfront, moved to very end of the truck centered under the bed. Need some independent scales to check my weight bias now.

Very nice Tyler. I really like where you put it. Did you build that box, or is it a pre-fab?

I built the box, I used 14ga. 304 Stainless. I work in a sheetmetal and ductwork fab shop. So I'm bound to learn a few things.
Sucker weighs 14lbs.

Looks really good. Using the stock battery?
That certainly puts the weight in the right place now. ![]()

man building it out of 14ga, sort of killed the relocation factor. it should have been done out of 22 or 24ga. its all good though. I just want to point something out to you. do you race the truck? because if you do your going to fail tech. a relocated battery requires a battery disconnect at the rear of the truck. so you will need to purchase one. you can get some that use a rod that can stick through the bumper that way when not racing you can remove the rod so no one turns the power off on your truck.

I do race the truck. The only track I go to though doesn't do much of anything as far as tech goes for street vehicles. I'm gonna look into getting one real soon so I can go to other tracks around without problems.

On my Dakota R/T I have it installed behind my license plate. All I have to do is unscrew the plate and it's right there. Plus it just looks cool.

Honestly, that's scary. I would rather have them be strict. I wanna know the guy running a 9.90 car in the lane next to me has what he needs for safety. I don't want him in my lane sideways in front of me. You would never stop in time. Or worse, hit the wall yourself, and the rescue team can't get you out. Because of improper safety equipment. An electrical fire cannot be put out as long as it's energized.
Why risk your own safety? No matter what the track checks. NHRA requires it for a reason. I would hate to be badly burned after hitting the wall and having the doors jammed shut. When the rescue crew could have helped by simply hitting the disconnect, and puting the fire out. Do as you please, but it's not worth the risk over a $60 switch.
