I am looking for a cold air intake for my GF's 99 Plymouth Neon Expresso. It has the 2.0L DOHC automatic trans. The only kits I can find are for the manual trany's. Will the manual kit fit the auto? Whats the difference in the engine compartment? Or, does anyone know where I can find a kit for the auto. I may have to go with mkitgo2's recomendation a few months ago and make one, but I just have to find the time to do it.

Thanks
James

buy an ice man
cut 3 inches off of it and see if it will then fit with the new battery tray already in there

if it doesnt fit with the filter on cut more off of the length

just keep cutting more until it fits and then drill the hole for the air return and put it in there

i have one on my auto neon....it kinda sucked doing all that to get it in there and it still turned out to be really tight, the filter rubs on the radiator fan cover but not bad and the hood support bar rubs on the intake pipe

the worst thing though is that you will NEED a bag to cover it

but as they become more popular i see K&N makes a smaller filter that wont rub as much, i have yet to get it to pu on mine

its also really loud, ive heard of some people not like the intake because of its loudness, i like the sound, in the upper RPM's you can really hear the engine rev and suck air

thats my 2 cents, hope its informative

good luck

I bought a Cold Air Intake for a 2.0L SOHC MTX, and it was a tight fit, but I squeezed it into my 2.0L SOHC Auto, Maybe the same would work for you? Or, just buy some pipe and a K&N Filter and have a few hours of fun.....
Later,
Scott
