Keeping the Power Wagon Clean?

So I had a thought to myself today as I was washing the truck that kind of made me chuckle. I wondered just how many folks who own Power Wagon’s tried to keep them as clean as possible? Don’t get me wrong, my truck isn’t afraid to get dirty, but at the same time I like keeping it clean whenever I can. I know to some a dirty truck adds character to the appearance, and I also know that a lot of folks will work/use their Power Wagon harder than I ever will, but I wonder if there’s a percentage out there like me that tries to keep their truck clean when they can. Anyway- just a random thought I had today.

Mine is rarely clean. It's never been washed like my 2010, just power washed at the car wash about once a month or so to get most of the dirt off. I really need to detail it and put on a coat of wax before winter hits.

Clean mine up. And within a week, it's dirty again. I don't know how that happens?

OK, I'll bite. I do use my truck off road but mostly as a tow vehicle for my ATV's and to bring supplys to my back woods camp which is several miles from any maintained roads. It is also my daily driver and I do make an effort to keep it clean. I have a good, cheap hand car wash just a few miles from my house and take advantage of it every 4-6 weeks I would estimate. Hey, I see nothing wrong with keeping a $45,000 truck looking good.

I wash mine when it rains....
![]() Since owning mine for a year, I've taken it through the car wash maybe 3, or 4 times. When it is clean, I just make sure to really detail the heck out of it. A nice coat of wax and spray cans of protectant on when needs it.

I don't own a PW but do suffer from OCD. However, as I've aged the urge to clean my truck has lessened. I used to wash my truck every 3-4 day's whereas now I'll go 2-3 weeks between washes. That said, when I wash it I do a thorough job by hand. Scratches don't seem to bother me as they used to either.

Yea, I love getting the Wagon dirty. I am usually stoked to have the mud badge on it for a few days, but then it kicks in to clean it. I just don't want any mud or gunk sitting in little areas wreaking havoc on the truck over time.
SO here is a pic of my Wagon all clean. |
