How many buy off the lot and How many order?

After going to my dealer Saturday I'm just wondering how many people bought their truck from the dealers inventory and how many ordered thier truck from the factory?

I ordered mine.Just make sure you get in writing all new discounts that may come up between time of ordering and your delivery date.You also get the same incentives that you would get buying off the lot.

Ordered the last 2 new trucks.

i ordered only because i wanted a specific truck and dealer couldn't find it anywhere.

you can get a better deal buying off the lot usually, but you may have to sacrifice certain things that you may want.

I got my R/T off the lot.

was going to order but found it on the other side of the country exactly as I wanted it, so I bought it before I ever saw it...

I have either ordered or had to do a long-distance search to find my three most recent trucks.

They found my truck at a nearby dealer. There weren't many 4x4s on the lot to choose from, and no 4x4 sports at all.

Purchased mine off the lot. I do regret it to a certain extent. My truck is a 2010 Quad Cab Sport with the 3.55 gears, tow package, bedliner, and the Deep Water Blue as options. Things I wish I had: 3.92 gears, leather, and the upgraded sound system with navigation. I was kind of stuck though, I needed a vehicle right away...

Off the lot......I sacrificed a couple things I would have liked, but by getting a leftover 10, I was able to save a significant amount of money. Overall I am happy, but next time I may order exactly what I want.

Mine was off a lot, but not off the lot of the place I bought my truck from. I probably could have got just as good a deal if I would have ordered one looking back.

Ordered true dealers lot...

My dealer didn't have what i wanted. So he search for it at different dealers. Found one like i wanted and brought it in.

I bought my 2010 off of a dealer's lot about 100 miles away. Aside from a couple options, it was exactly what I wanted. Only things I would have changed if I ordered it would be adding the 32 gallon fuel tank and trailer brake controller and removing the factory drop in bed liner and side steps. My biggest concern when I was looking locally was getting 3.92 gears with LSD and the center console.

My Power Wagon wasn't so easy. My local dealers couldn't pull their heads far enough out of their asses to find me one within 500 miles and wanted to rape me on a custom order. After some extensive looking on my part I found a dealer about 80 miles away that found one in Dallas, another 250 miles away. Got an awesome deal and the truck only had 278 miles on it when I picked it up, but it's exactly what I would have ordered.

I've done both. If the dealer doesn't have what I want or they can't find the truck I want then I order one. As long as I can get the truck/car I want I'm not too picky. I won't buy a truck off of a lot if it has more than 100 miles on it.

I ordered mine because around here the regular cab/ short bed combination is practically unheard of. The dealers only stock the quad/crew cabs, or if they have a reg cab it has a long bed on it.

Why would a new truck have that many miles on it? Mine had 13 on the odo when I test drove it.
