Tranmission solenoids buzzing?

Never heard them before. Today while driving home from work I thought i heard a buzz as I shifted to drive and took off, paid no attention. Arrived home, backed into parking spot as usual with window down... heard distinct buzzzzz. I shifted back into drive... buzzzzz... back to reverse.. buzzz... back to drive etc. 45k miles on my 06' Ram 1500 QC 5.7L hemi. Signs of something to come or normal sometimes? Like I said, never, ever heard the buzzing before when selecting D or R. Any input is appreciated?

It's normal for the older 3rd Gen trucks.

+1! The bzzztck is completely normal in all electronically controlled Chrysler transmissions. It's the selenoids opening/closing. The 41TE in our 2000 T&C, the 62TE in our Journey and the 545RFE in my '06 Ram all do it. You'll only hear it when shifting from P to R or D or at low speed due to the absence of any road noise, but whenever the transmission shifts the bzzztck is there, you just can't hear it at speed.

My 03 did it, but my 04 doesn't. May be something specific to that year model.
