Just got my new 2012 ram. Wondering if anyone knew how to disable the seat belt alarm. I took it off on my 08 but haven't figured it out on my new one yet. Any help?

Same way. Get in vehicle and buckle seat belt. Turn key to run position without starting. As soon as the seat belt light goes out unbuckle and buckle seat belt 3 times within 10 seconds ending with it buckled. Turn key off. You should hear a single chime if done properly. Seat belt buzzer is now disabled.

Just put a jumper in the connectors under each seat. It's the ones with two wires .

It's not about driving witout a seatbelt. For example, it's for times your driving through a lumber yard and getting in and out of the truck. Are you really going to buckle up for that?

Exactly !! . . . or sitting on the boat ramp, or driving around the farm, or driving from one side of the mall to the other . . . There are tons of times when you don't need it, and don't want to be "bing bonged" at the whole time.

No one is saying it's because they want to hit the highway without it, but if they do, that's their choice, and they don't need the father knows best speech.

Nothing like trying to back the boat trailer in the water and the damn seat belt dinger won't shut up. Or cruising through some trails at 8 mph and it won't shut up!

There are many times where a seat belt is not needed. I wear mine when I'm on the road. The EVIC also now shows driver's seat belt unbuckled along with a flashing red seat belt light on the cluster, which I don't mind. I just don't need something dinging at me to buckle up.

Just got a 2012 2500 2 weeks ago.
I know I should always buckle up, but sometimes I don't.
I have disabled the seatbelt alarm, but when unbuckled, after every stop, the EVIC displays "Driver seatbelt unbuckled" until I hit a button on the steering wheel. Anyone know how to disable that EVIC reminder?

Thanks.

My dealer's service manager spent a good 15 minutes trying to figure out a way to shut off the reminder on the EVIC. He couldn't figure out any way to do it. Not too big of a deal since I wear my seatbelt 99% of the time, but it's still annoying for the 1% when I don't.

just jumper the wire across under the seat. then it always thinks the seatbelt is on. no message on dash and no dinging and no red flashing light!

I tried the method in the manual, 3 times engage and disengage seatbelt, and listen for the chime, I have a 2010 sport and it did not work, tried it 4 more times and nothing... and my manual says to do it this way, IT DOES NOT WORK on my truck. I will try and jump the wires under seat.
