Still loving the TB ground.

Who has grounded the trans? I was thinking running a wire from the passinger side trans "ear" (there's a hole through it for a bolt) to the chassis where the other ground strap is located. Is this one way to do it?

Put me on the list of users of the grounded tb. Installed it and all I can say is WOW!!! It makes it run more linier. It acts more like a tb with a cable! I noticed it when starting from a stop behind a loaded semi. When slowly accelerating behind it I could slowly and steadily increase throttle smoothly. Didn't have the "dead pedal" feel. The other place would be when going to make a right on red, slowed down but never fully stopped the turned and accelerated. Was more responsive without having mash the pedal to down shift. Also, the peddle doesn't have to be pushed as far to maintain speed. Very nice. Thanks for posting this trick!

Why not just run the wire from the TB to the back of either head? This is a shorter/quicker path to ground plus you can hide the wire better

Apparently grounding nearest to the battery is optimal, from what ive learned/heard

I was going to say you could ground it to the head, but from what I've read the head needs to be grounded as well since the existing one is almost non-existent.

Honestly I don't know why the passengers head is not grounded as well, didn't really take the time to try and figure out why.

Plus I notice my truck down shifts easier. And yes I have the SC trans tune. This easy little mod makes even that seem better. I plan now to upgrade all the grounds on my truck and even add a few..
I plan on going through the whole truck checking grounds points and making them better where I can. I also have noticed that my truck will downshift and up-shift quicker, with less delay.

Yes I do have a SharaDon Stage 3, my second lol

The added grounds made everything perform as it should have from the factory, everything is very responsive and more consistent. The PCM is having to do less work filtering through all the interference in the signal.

Need install a ground on the trans but still am putting it off. Having to get the truck ready for the track this Saturday!

I have grounds every where, grounds on top of grounds haha, It makes no difference where you install, find a hole and tap it, grind any paint away until its shiny metal....Just remember, the more grounds you have the better, but its more work to keep em all clean and connected, and corrosion free. I just keep em shiney

I also grounded my TB the other day and believe or not there was a difference, a very slight difference. I used to feel a very slight delay and now the slight delay is gone. Now waiting for the trans ground to be posted by someone.

Yes it's all installed, grounded both heads, alternator, crossover cable from head to head, TB, and now I need to find a good place to ground the tranny.

I upgraded my ground yesterday to some 8 gauge.. Feels the same obviously, I just wanted some better quality wire ends than the ones I first used.. figured why not go bigger..

I crawled under my truck yesterday. I didn't see any exsisting bolts that were close that I "wanted" to use. I think I'm just going to pop a hole and self tap a bolt in the frame on the passenger side under the header from the tranny. There is some nice meaty frame right there begging for some grounding. A 1/4-3/8 hole and a bolt won't hurt anything.

I'm not worried about the frame, I am wondering where on the tranny to attatch a ground wire.

Gotcha, 05ramhendix did mention an ear on the passenger side. My 07 has the same ear. I plan to run a bolt through that hole and use it.. Some of the long tube header guys may have had to remove that. So its not an option for everyone. Glad I didn't have to with my mids. I have tons of room right there..

Edit.. Here is what I just did.. I took a 3" bolt and 2 washers with 2 nuts. Put that through the hole, making a stud. Made my ground wire, took a 3rd nut and secured the ground wire. Then tapped the frame right above the front cross member weld obviously on the passenger frame rail.. Its nice and up out of the way.
