I am not getting any spark and i am not sure what kind of set up i have for an ignition system. I did a search in the forum and i could not find anything,

'86 has a spark control computer in the drivers side fender which could have died. Could be several other things as well. With the switch on do you have power at the positive terminal of the coil? Be sure to measure the coil voltage from a good ground (not the negative terminal on the coil) to the positive terminal on the coil.

What i did is pull a spark plug wire and but a bolt inside where the spark plug would connect, then i had someone crank the engine, I barely saw a very light orange spark. I looked for a short somewhere, and i found a wire going to the hot side of the alternator that was shorting to the engine block. I made sure the wire was not touching anything and the truck started right up and has been running fine. Ive only had this truck for a month, and im still working out the kinks. I replaced spark plugs, and Im checking the timing this weekend...
