56 dodge w drop axle

here are the latest pics of mine with a sids drop axle in it... dropped her 3" and reworked all the steering componets... thing steers better than any manual steering ive driven in a long time.

Nice looking truck. I have contacted Sid's in the hopes I can get an axle for my new project.

HotRodKev...that is an awesome truck you have!! I think it is the best looking old Dodge I have ever seen!! Great job...you should be proud!!

Hows it going man you seem to be the most knowledgeable on these trucks and believe me I have looked around... I have a 1955 dodge pick up high side I was looking to do some modifing. Currently the truck has a flathead 6 stock brakes and suspension 3 on the tree. I picked up a 440 with 747 tranny any insight you could throw me on what the hell im in for lol. was thinking IFS mustang II front conversion?lost with the mounts thus far any ideas i would be extremely greatful

Thank you for the pictures this morning of your disk brake setup and the insight on the parts. I am fabricating the 360 & A727 mounts in the panel now and getting the parts for attempting the disks next.
I must say you have done a very fine job on your Vintage Dodge. I hope I can get mine half as nice.

I had to learn the hard way on almost everything I did... there isnt much information out there on these old Dodge trucks but now parts are becomming somewhat available etc it just takes time and there are alot of people not wanting to share their stuff but Im open to helping everyone I can honestly.. If ya need anything else let me know and cant wait to see some pics of your pannel...

Hello HotrodKev I was woundering if you could help me, I have a 1957 dodge d100 that looks very similair to your 56 (other than the front sheet metal), I was interested in sids drop axles and saw your 56 had done this. i was recently t-boned in my 57 and my wheel took all the impact, and it bent my axle a little bit. i went with a volare ifs swap, until i saw i had to cut my frame, so i hit a dead end there.
My question is i think we have the same axles on 56 and 57 i was woundering how your experience with the drop axle has been? cost? if you dont mind me asking. I see your in TX and sids is Oklahoma, I was woundering did you ship yours there or just order one? I am in AZ. thanks for any info. your truck is awesome. what size tires are those you have in front with that drop beam?

The axle was about 450 total I think and they are the same on the 57s

225/60/16 are my front tire size I'm currently running
