Alarm won't turn off

Hi, I have a 1999 Ram 1500 - the battery died - so I took the battery out and charged it. Now when I re-connect the battery the alarm goes off and will not stop. When I try to start it - I think the alarm is shutting it down. I do not have the FOB - I have also tried pushing the little button on the back of the red light below my steering wheel and turning the ignition on. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like an aftermarket alarm. If it was the factory all you have to do is turn the key in the door. Depends on the aftermark alarm. Figure out what kind it is and I can help you further.

Yep I second that sounds like you need to remove the aftermarket alarm all together.

If it is a separate unit,as in not connected to your factory horn, take the wires off the alarm horn. It is an easy fast fix untill you can get the after-market alarm off.

I love Corvettes

6000k HID's, cold air intake, dual exhaust, aftermarket power windows, after market power locks, 31x10.5x15 BFG's all terrain k/o tires, DVD/NAV touch screen, Rockford Fosgate amp, Sony 12" subwoofer, 35% tint, and there will hopefully be more to come.

Thanks for taking the time to reply - it is a factory alarm and the key in the door did the trick - I didn't even know I had an alarm until it started going off Thanks again, Robin
