Okay guys, here is it, when I am turning in 4x my front axle by the tires pops and grinds like I'm driving over sheets of glass except a lower tone, and it grinds too. It pops even if i turn a little bit, but it is louder if it is turned full, please help.

My truck had 60k on it when i bought it. The u-joints shot. The oem ones didn't last at all. Replace them with dana/spicer u-joints only. Don't buy the cheap crap the chain part stores carry. Or you will be replacing them again(trust me).

a u-joint transfers the power from the axle to the wheel. Even when it is not in 4WD they spin. My old ones where so bad all the needle bearings where long gone and it was metal to metal. Have them looked at asap.

yeah im not to worried about replacing it, its easy in my oppinion, but while looking at my U joints i saw diff fluid was dripping out of the opposite side axle housing, so on top of all of that, i need to replace the axle seals.

Just replaced mine at 190,000 miles and could not beat the cups out with a hammer and even with the press kit from Autozone could not turn the screw hard enough to dislodge them with a breaker bar. Had to use a 500 lb. ft impact wrench to pop them out. Should have been a 2 hour job for both sides but took about 4 all told. Mad me kinda tired, too.
