What's the best way to make a Stratus faster?

Right after I bought my dodge stratus I went out looking for stuff to make it faster. The 17 second quarter mile doesnt make me happy. I went to the closest performance stores and they told me that there is no AEM Cold Air Intake, Headers or Performance chips that I can put in my car.
I really didn't believe them. So does anyone know any sites to where I can find out how to make my car faster? |

What version of the stratus do you have? The RT's like mine (manuals though) can get low 15's with CAI and exhaust.

what year and is it a coupe or sedan. if its the 2001-up sedan you won't find anything for your car. On our site for the the 2001+ sedans we have a company that makes some parts for us and sells others.

Throttle body NOS kits should work for the 2gsedan. You should be able to use a generic 50 or 75hp ring fogger using the stock pump and injectors. Better be comfortable with fabrication. ~$500 - BTW, Any damage caused by a NOS system isn't covered under warranty.
You could also fab a CAI out of PVC pipe. You just need to put in a port for the ACT sensor. ~$60 with a K&N air filter. Low back pressure muffler would help with the top end, but cause a loss in the low end. You can also add a resistor to the computer that causes the mixture to go slightly rich adding about 10-20hp. Down side: Voids the warranty and will ruin the cat converter over the long haul. <$10, but you can't leave it on. Race day only. For handling, rear stabilizers are available, but I don't remember where I saw them. ~$150 if I remember right. The 2.7l Magnum comes pretty tweaked from the factory. Combined with a general lack of room under the hood which could cause cooling problems, whatever you do to it, will be a trade-off. There is no free lunch with this motor. RK |

That short ram intake looks like it's worth about 10 or 20hp. Plus it would give a little more room under the hood right by the throttle body. Can we say NOS solenoid?

a cold air intake will get you no where 10 hp, your looking at maybe 1 to 2 at the very most if you are lucky. If you have a 420a 4cyl stratus, or a 6 cylinder, buy ANY non-turbo eclipse cold air intake and it fits fine... you can find a ton of info and part at my friends site, www.exileracing.com... just go to catalog, and click on stratus. they have everything from intakes to transmission upgrades and motor internals. feel free to ask any questions, ill be happy to help..

My brother has an 03 R/T and is looking for anything to help performance. He already has the AEM intake but can't find anything else for it other than a charger. He was looking into a coil over but it also drops the car. Something he doesn't want. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
