Question Perform Service message

How do I get the message to cancel.I did the service,a minor fortune in syn oil. Anything like the oil change trick? or is it a trip to the dealership.

Perform service is for the CCV filter Crank Case Ventilation. Nothing to do with oil change. Comes on anytime after 60,000 miles

Well, aparently it has to do with the CCV filter needing to be replaced. And also having the EGR cleaned. So, I am going to order a CCV filter from Geno's Garage. $59.95, and install it myself. Now, supposedly, after doing all the necessary repairs, replacements, cleanings, if you turn on the ignition, (don't start) depress the brake twice, throttle twice, turn key to off, lock position, within 10 seconds, this should shut off overhead message, and reset the interval. I have found out that the CCV filter really needs to be done, so I am going to do it. This is what I've found out. Hopefully it helps other members as well

The dealer calls the CCV filter a breather if it is the one under the plastic shroud .And wants $166 for one.

http://www.genosgarage.com/prodinfo.asp?number=CV520010 Go here. Price is right, and fast shipping! Same exact one the dealer is robbing you for.
