pcv valve

Where is the pcv valve on an 08 4.7L? I know previous years it was on the oil filler tube, but I am having a hard time locating it. I tried the search feature, but came up nothing.
Thanks guys!!

Yep. My bad.

I know they've moved the PCV valve around in the 4.7's.

Its not on the oil filler tube. The the filler tube is on the drivers side of the engine, where as in previous models it was on the passenger side.

I looked on other forums, and I think it is on the driver side valve cover. I had to work today, so I was not able to check.

The PCV valve (2) is mounted into the top/rear of the left valve cover.
Disconnect plastic line (1) from end of PCV valve.
Use a small screwdriver to disengage PCV valve from valve cover.

I have always done the rattle test. If it rattles when you shake it its good to go. If it doesn't then its gummed up and needs to be changed out.

If you have the 4.7L engine, you need to be sure you clean out the hose and tube that connects to the PCV. They can collect water and crap from the crankcase and keep the PCV stsyem from working.

... FYI

Yeah, I have heard about the rattle test, but I bought a new PCV valve for $6 at the dealership, so might as well just change it.
