Trans trouble code P0750

I m getting the code - shift solenoid error.

Can one just replace the shift solenoid? Is that part of the TCM? How hard to swap out the TCM, I know it is up on the firewall/fender area under the hood....

Thoughts?

The Shift Selenoid Pack is located on the valve body, you must drop the Tran. pan to get to it. Check page 21-452 in in following link.

I just wondering since I've only seen the light while starting the truck, could it be the voltage of the battery, I still have the same battery from when I bought the truck new, about 8 years, so could this solve the problem? Sorry for taking your thread of topic, but as for tranny components check airram.com I think they have parts for the tranny?

That's old for a battery but I believe I would test it before I just replace it.

Back to the transmission issue...

The website provided says the solenoid pack can be installed with simple hand tools.... Has anyone done this yet, and was it that easy of a job. I have simple hand tools and with enough pictures/detailed instructions feel that I am able to do it myself.... But it would be nice to hear from someone who has done the swap.... Also would this get rid of my P0750 Code...

I've not done enough tranny work to say yes or no. I believe a good person for you to talk too is sawcut64 (Sam). Sent him a PM and pick his gray matter on this one.

edit: Seeing that the error has to do with an open or bad circuit, I think I would check the wiring harness, the connections, and grounds on the tranny before I started to drop money into the transmission.
