430Nb.jpg I'm not sure why the 730N system is $945 while the 430N is only $400. The 430N has Garmin Nav while the 730N has the Mygig nav. Both have Uconnect, both have iPod control capability. The 430N has a USB port in the glovebox, while the 730N has the Chrysler connection port. It would seem that the 430N, with the Garmin Nav was a better system, yet it's $545 less. I thought that the 430N didn't have iPod control, but it does. It seems that the iPod control is not as quick to respond as the 730N iPod control, but it still works fine. So I just don't understand why the 730N costs more. I have got to be missing something, but what? |

You can get the 430 with or without nav, not sure about the 730. I'd sure love to see a side by side comparison of the 730N and the 430N.
So with the Garmin, does it still lock you out when moving? Wonder if lock-pick would work on this system. Is this thing still a Mygig? Last edited by Attono : 09-20-2010 at 06:32 AM. |

I have had my 2010 Sport for 2 weeks now and still trying to learn all I can about this unit. Is mine the 430n?
I have experience with a 2005 Infinity, Toyota Generation 2, Toyota Generation 3, the latest GM model, and now this one. I have to say, although I feel I have the best pickup out there, this navigation is really lacking compared to the ones I've had access to in the past, or I still have a lot to learn. The manual sucks and the personnel at my dealership can't help much, so still looking for the best info available. If anyone could point me to the right website or info out there I would greatly appreciate it. Danny |

Thanks for the link! I do have the 730n and the site has a better manual online compared to the one I got with the vehicle.

the navigation in the new jeeps is supposed to be garmin and the uconnect sounds a little better. as does the sirius travel link.
http://www.jeep.com/en/2011/grand_ch...rior/uconnect/ wondering what would be needed to put this in my truck.

They both have Uconnect, but you've struck on my question. If the Garmin is a better Nav system, why is the 430N with Garmin $545 cheaper???

Well, a few more folks ought to have these by now. Any thoughts on how the 430N is working?

OK, well the 430N does not have DR (gyro) and also doesn't have the Sirius traffic display capability. The voice prompt quality is also not very good. I asked about building a Sport and putting a 730N in at the dealer, but the dealer says it requires a different harness that only the Laramie comes with. Really ridiculous that ALL the 2010's models came with the 730N option, but for the 2011's, only the Laramie offers it. Booooo!
