So my ABS and brake light are on all the time now. I read somewhere that it could be brake fluid, so i filled up the reservoir, but the lights are still on. Any ideas? The truck brakes fine, so if the problem is minor enough, i will probably just ignore it.

Also, i checked the obd2 to see if it's throwing any codes. Nada.

For the brake light it could be that your parking/emergency brake pedal isn't all the way up.

And for the ABS light, check the sensor's on the back side of the front rotors. Could be a cut wire or the sensor itself is bad.

common cause's are the rwal sensor on top of the rear diff or brake pedal switch...if its the sensor on 98-up rams the speedo may act funny as mine did

x2. I replaced my sensor not too long ago bc of the same issues, pretty cheap fix.

I would check to make sure you have brake lights. If you were to blow a stop light fuse, both of those will illuminate.

as far as the original poster talking about brake fluid being the cause. The only reason this would happen is that your brake pads are excessively worn causing the piston to be out farther and using up all the fluid. You arent actually supposed to have to add brake fluid unless your doing a brake job and bleeding and all that. WHen you compress the piston/s in the caliper back the fluid goes back up to the reservoir.

i have a 99 ram 5.2 4x4 with the nv 3500 standard trans and I have the same ABS and brake like ans speedo not reading until 25 mph and up, but with one better my engine actually stalls occasionally when comming to stop(clutch in and shifter in second). Any thoughts on the sensor in the rear causing the engine to stall??
