Hey guys, this is my first thread as a member. I just purchased an X3 Racing 4" Medallion Style Muffler with a 2.5 inlet . Any help on installing this baby would be appreciated. Thanks.

What year car do you have? 2nd generation's use a 2 1/4 inch inlet. Also, is it a tube type muffler or a typical type?

Just need a reducer and shouldn't have a problem. I think both gens of the stratus sedans are 2 1/4"

Thanks guys...I have a 2002 Stratus sedan and using the reducer sounds right...I was told by another person to use it and I shouldn't have a problem...where I was getting at though is how do I take off my old muffler and how does the new one go on? The new one is a straight circular muffler.

It should be an oval muff. Use a Sawzall to cut it as close as possible to the muffler as possible. It just might slide over, or inside your freshly cut pipe(IF, You're Lucky!) If they are the same size, you need a coupler, {same size on both ends**. Make sure to clamp it good, and a word to the wise: go get 2 Stainless steel sheetmetal screws, (4, if coupler is used) pretty small & short-1/2" long is good. After it is clamped, drill through BOTH pipes,(BOTH ends, if coupler is used), that is a guarantee that you will never lose your new muffler. You MUST get stainless screws, if not, they'll rust, and break, when & if you try to remove them, and that, my friend, ='s NO FUN! 1Badbird
