Do all grey keys have chips in them??

I stored my car and I was going to move it around today and realized both sets of my keys are gone... Searched the whole house all weekend. I broke into the truck to look aswell and pulled the horn fuse so it wouldnt honk everytime I open the door. My truck is a 2002 and my keys were grey and my FOB had a LOCK, UNLOCK And panic button on it. Im going to go to the dealer tommorow and get a new key cut I was just wondering if anyone knew is ALL grey keys were chipped or not and if anyone knew a ballpark on how much a new key is going to cost me. Thanks guys!

okay I was prepared for about $150ish for just the key with no FOB but having to have the car there is going to suck big time. Are there any other solutions for me in this situation?! Thanks guys!

I thought there was a way you could bring your title, or proof that the vin number is your truck and they can get a key made for it... I may be wrong..

Your other bet is to get a new ignition / keys and a new key fob to unlock and lock the doors

I believe even then it will have to be programmed to the truck

If you get one key from the dealer you can go to a locksmith and get a valet key (no buttons) for 30-50. Walmart also sells our keys now, but I'm not sure if it has the buttons and if they can program them. It tells you in your owner's manual how to program the keys yourself in your ignition. I don't remember if you need one key or two to do it though.

okay I got a regular unchipped key cut today at the dealer so I could open the doors without the alarm going off and unlock the steering wheel. When I tried to start it, it ran for 30 seconds and died due to lack of a chip. All I want to do is get the truck in my shop which is just another driveway away from where the truck is parked. I dont need to drive it till spring and the keys will probably turn up in the meantime. If I put the truck in neutral with the unchipped key in the ignition the truck wont budge, maybe its because I was trying to push it alone. If I can get it to the end of the driveway ill push it up hill into my shop with my beater VW car... LOL!!! So should the truck move in neutral with the unchipped key?!

Yes, the chip is just an electrical shut off. It doesn't affect the rolling of the vehicle at all.
