A couple years ago I changed my spark plugs on my '03 Ram 1500 and in doing so I somehow loosened the vacuum line that goes from the oil filler cap, across the passenger side of the engine and down to the back of it... where I can't see it from any angle, or reach it. I didn't notice that I'd done it at the time, but a few days later my idle speed shot up. I thought it might be that line, and just wiggled it around near the back of the engine and evidently got it back on good enough that it stayed, until now...

I did a real quick takeoff when making a turn the other day and my idle speed shot back up, about 1600rpm in neutral. The vacuum line I described definitely came loose, I disconnected the end from the oil filler thing and it came out.

The problem: I still can't see back there or reach back there. I'm afraid I'm going to have to dismantle the entire intake manifold. Is it possible to get this thing back on without doing that? I can't even tell where exactly it's supposed to connect to, because I can't see anything, even with one of those telescoping mirrors.

theres 2 ports on the back edge of the intake manifold one goes in each side , they upgraded the setup on the newer engine because of a bad pcv design though , maybe you wanna set it up the new way , heres a pic

Ahh, thanks! The port was on the opposite side of the engine, which is why I couldn't find it. I've got it reconnected for now and I might redo the PCV, even when it was connected properly I still always got white oil/water muck in the filler cap. Do I have to buy a new PCV valve, or do I just reroute the hoses and plug up the one on the intake box?
