Installed - 2.5" Daystar Leveling Lift Kit on a 03 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD



We just finished installing a Daystar 2.5" Leveling Lift Kit on a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD.
This spacer installs on the top of the front coil spring and bolts back up. No cutting or drilling required.

With your current suspension lift (Spindles) theoretically you could run a small spacer. HOWEVER I personally do not recall the outcome in the recent past of us installing a setup like that and can not advocate that running anything larger than 1.5" would not adjust other things. Such as your steering angles.

im not worried about having to realign it, so you think a 3" would make it where something wont work?

Correct me if i'm wrong but are you saying you want to put a 3" spacer ontop of your existing 3" spindle system?

You should have no problem running the 3" spacers. HOWEVER I do not know how that will effect your steering angles.

Bare in mind though, we recommend when purchasing any spacers over the size of 2.5" you STRONGLY consider upgrading your shocks. with the newly added height you have a very good chance of topping out your stock shocks.

it would be like running the old rough country kit before the crossmembers demon you could run that 2.5 in there and be good to go or 3inch springs, or 3inch cst spacers

3" is max b4 uca starts riding/touching the upper coil bucket in full extension. 2.5 is just right.

And just right before I install the 2.5" Daystar tomorrow on my 02 Quad Cab 2wd metallic grey truck. I've been looking for a pic just like this. I did find one (don't recall whose truck it was blue with silver). Although, I don't have a tool box, but I do have crome bug deflector and tow mirrors. I'm getting new shoes as well, nothing special. And, installing bilstein shocks all around. Can't wait! I'll have to post pics as well.

You guys will have to wait. The place I took it into is only open 4 hours on Saturday and since they had to finish a truck leftover from Friday, they would've not been able to do everything on my truck I wanted. I'd rather do the tires, shocks, and level kit at the same time. I'll try to get it done in a week once I get back from a trip.

Dizzy, Im going to have to disagree with you on this one bro. As you all know Ive got my RC 3" spindles. Some of you who keep up know I did my 3" CST springs also. But what few know is that I still have my spring isolator (on the bottom now of the spring) and a 1" spacer on the top. So you can count that as a 3" spindle lift and a 4" additional lift. My UCA doesnt hit. However I do need to get pics so everyone can see where I am at. IDK tho, maybe my 36s have something to do with it.

i am tired of this guys i see what your running and your not looking to hot man that ball joint is going to break and leave you upside down on the side of the rd waiting on my ambulance to come and get ya. the way is works is a 3inch spring is not as tall as a 3inch spacer because the spring is using stiffness to make a bit more lift. a 2inch spacer ontop a stock spring and a 3inch spring next to each other are the same height but your going to get more lift with the spring. now with a 3inch spacer its having to use height to make the lift meaning your going to have less room in there for movement.

and for everyones the reason the older style rough country lift with the 3inch spindle and 3 inch spring is not made anymore is because it was making the balljoints on the trucks stay at such an extreme angle like seen above that they were snapping off and causeing some serious injurys and risk......

I understand what you are saying and Im not trying to argue. The only thing I was was there is enough room to do it. IDK about older RC lifts. I do know CST uses spindles and 3" spacers on thiers but CST also has 3" springs for the QCs. To my knowledge, RC is the only one who has drop X-members. The springs i am using are HERE and here is something from thier site.

Please note, this item is NOT designed for use on Standard Cab V6 eqiupped trucks. Quad Cab trucks equipped with the heavier 5.7L V8 Hemi engine will only achieve approximately 2" inches of lift over stock height!

With that being said, this is only a leveling kit so to speak. And if thats the case (because lift spindles have nothing to do with springs), we all are in trouble for those who level by lifting the front instead of droppin the rear.
