need Help!! Loud popping in front end.

Need some Help. I have a loud popping when i turn, thought it was just the ball joints. I jacked it up and the tires have no wiggle to them. I do have the TB's cranked about 1 1/2', if not the ball joints what else could this be? cv's?

after layn under the truck awhile with a friend turning the wheels, i found the popping. it was coming from the bolts that hold the rack and pinion on.
