I have a 98 Durango and get a vibration over 60 mph. I've rotated and balanced tires a number of times, got an alignment, and replaced tie rods but to no avail. My tires are 33x12.5 BFG ATs but the vibration only starting recently so I don't think its the tread. Any clues as to whats going on here?

thanks Jason

Hard to tell but most vibration problems are caused by tires. Perhaps you have a broken belt or sidewall damage. Good luck and let us know when you figure it out.

I'm having 2 tires swapped out tomorrow so hopefully that will solve it. Was driving on the highway today and went through a turn and it started to vibrate pretty bad, steering wheel was bouncing up and down big time. My tires at the most have 5k miles on them.

Would be good to get your ball joints checked out...they are the reason I get tire hop at above 60 too.

jpi99:

I had a similar problem but it turned out to be a balance issue, And ya checked out all that other stuff and your getting 2 tires swaped. Have them put them on the rear and the rears put on the front, this way you'll find out if the tires ya got before were from a bad batch. I also agree that you should check out your ball joints. That is a BIG issue with the D's.
