I am trying to get a part number for the turn signal flasher, could someone tell me where it is located in the D?

The number should be on the bulb itself. 3457AK is what D/C says. Let me know if that is what you're looking for and if not, I'll look a little deeper.

There is no flasher. It is done in the front body computer. The thing that clicks is a relay who's sole purpose in life is to click, i.e., make noise.

Aint it grand? A simple system that worked great for a century got all integrated. Flashers don't work anymore? REPLACE THE COMPUTER! See, that was easy.......

that sucks...the flashers on the D work fine, the one's on the Ram are having issues when I hook up the trailer.
After doing some research it seems the reason the turn signals in the D cycle the same rate regardless of load is because they are computer controlled.

The turn signals in the Ram are controlled by a flasher relay and when the current load increases the cycle rate increases.

This is not a major problem, but more of a slight annoyance.

thanks for the replies and I'll be in the same boat soon. My wife is due sometime around December 20th. 1 daughter, 1 on the way, 2 large dogs, 2 bi-polar cats, and all of it is getting PCS'd soon!

i hear ya chizzle1 you got me beat with the bi-polar cats !! are the batteries the same on the rams as on the D's along with same plug fro trailer lights.

The batteries are about the same amperage rating (i think).
The Durango came with the severe duty towing package which includes the integrated class IV receiver with flat 4 & round 7 connectors.
I have tried both and they seem to function the same (the boat trailer has an adapter for round 7 to flat 4).

maybe different size alternator! should not be a difference in vehicles.... you have a bud that has a ram also and try his see if it does the same.

I was just told that an EP-27 relay should solve the problem. The parts house has 2 in stock, $13 each. I'll be picking it up during lunch and will post up how it goes - taking some leave tomorrow to go fishing!

The best approach would be a trailer isolator, about $50 or so.
