Will not shift out of Park occasionally 02 Durango

One morning I go outside after a cold night and the Durango will not shift out of park. I took it back to the used dealer and they tightened a lever in the steering column. It stopped for about a month or so. But the problem is back now. Can anyone help me on this. And engine codes that came up are P0700 and P0841. Again 2002 Durango.

There is a recall for these durangos you might want to check on that but also check your fluid. What size engine do you have? That will tell us what tranny you have.

No recall on my problem. Dealership fixed problem for 50 bucks. All they had to do was tighten the shift cable and the problem has not come back. Thanks for all your help.
