Windows Freezing

I know there was a topic on this back in 05, I guess I'm just hoping that someone has a solution to this 3 years later.

It snows, my windows get stuck. They have A LOT of power, but I can see the door panel, and door itself widen, from the stress it puts on it. Eventually they pop free.

Our chevy, ford, nissan, mazda, etc..... Dont have this problem. This is our first Dodge.

Never heard of a problem like this before. Solution: don't roll your windows down in sub-freezing temps.

I would say that's easy.... but...

1. Taco bell, late nite drive through... I need a window to go down.

2. Durango's are fast, and if I get pulled over, Im afraid to open the door if a cop comes up to me. They won't like that one bit.

Welcome to DT!

Is it frozen at the top of the window or down in the door where the mechanics are?

I know when its cold in the morning my windows wont open. I got some de-icer and that seems to work for me. Theres two different kinds one you put on at night or theres one you spray on after you have ice or frost on the windows.

Worse:

The wipers can freeze up. And the damn motor for them is so strong that it just bends the snot out of the wiper arm instead. Ask me how I know!

I now make sure the wipers are free before getting in the D. Better yet, if you know it is going to be freezing precip, have the wipers sticking out in the cleaning posistion.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I run some forums myself, so I'm up to date with that, but I'm new to Dodge, and I LOVE it.

Seems like a nice place here, love it already.

The window's motors are not freezing, where all the seals touch the actual glass gets frozen together. I'm actually impressed with how strong it becomes, so easily. Very Minor, I live in Chicago, so it's cold a few months out of the year, but still looking for a fix.

Thanks everyone!

P.S. The wiper motors are stronger than the wipers... I ripped a wiper off the first time it snowed in the Durango. Again, I was impressed, not mad. lol. Everything is powerful, not just the Hemi :0

I live in New Hampshire so it's not quite warm out.... What if you take a hair dryer and funnel the heat down into the window seals and try to dry out the inside of the door? Or if your inclined, take off the panels and see if you have any moisture built up in there....

You should be able to spray some seal lubricant on there! You most likely have moisture trapped somehow in the seals. Should be able to find that in the parts store.

It's not a matter of getting them unstuck. It's keeping them from sticking. After the truck warms up, they pop open.

But, It's a pain every time it snows. The seal lubricant may help something.
