Well, after searching the web for three hours, I found what looks like a great forum for Mopar owners.

Christmas comes early for me; on 3 Dec I take possession of a 1982 Dodge 400 convertible. Back in the sun again! And that's why I went looking for a Dodge forum; hopefully, I'll find others here who own one of those rarities...(only 5888 were produced.)

So here's the deal on my 400. She comes with a near new top, four new tires, no body rust, no dents (stone chips, yes), 58,000 +/- actual miles, a driver's seat needing redone, and a ripped rear window needing replaced. Drove her up a long steep hill and she never hesitated; it was in a residential section and didn't dare go over 30 mph but she could have done more than twice that. All that for a paltry $600.00. From the prices being asked today for 400 rags, I got a real deal.

So.......if you are a 400 ragger, buzz me. I'll need to pick your brain and will leave mine open for your picking.

Best to all on the forum.........Will (Ragman)

Hope you have fun with it. 2.2L or 2.6L?

I have seen a lot of the 600 or Lebaron convertibles, seems people were buying the more expensive cars when new.

Hey, sixpack....thanks for the response!

Haven't had a chance to go over the little girl but will let you know the engine size when I get her in my driveway.

Funny thing about the cost of the 400 in '82....Chrysler dropped the price by $3000 the next year. At least that's what I read on a site giving a great history on the K-cars.

Talked to a lady in the shopping center parking lot yesterday who was driving a 1986 Lebaron. It looked brand new. She said she'd driven it to New York and back seven times and never had a nickle's worth of trouble out of it. I asked if she planned to sell it. Her answer...."Hell no!"

Again, thanks for the response.
