4.7L Valvetrain noise

My '02 Ram 1500 4.7L has a horrible valve tap at start-up every day. I Change my oil every 3000 miles and run 10W30 Mobil-1 full synthetic, so
I can't understand why I am having noises in my engine at 78k miles.
Has anybody else had this problem? And if so, did anyone figure out what to do to get rid of this horrible noise?

I've got the tap on start, but I've read that it can be caused by the timing chain tensioners. They bleed down or get sticky and don't do their job too well until things warm up. Since I don't have the money to tear the front of the engine off at the moment, I just put up with it.

In my younger days and older trucks, I might have tried using something like Rislone to free things up, but I haven't had the courage to try it in a newer engine. It might work, but it might not.
