I have a 01 ram 1500 with the 318 and I loved it...My ex boyfriend had a 01 ram 1500 off road with the 360 and to be honest mine pulled his outta the mud a few times...he had 33" super swamper mud tires on it and mine just had regular off road tires...the 318 may not get all the horsepower but I never got it stuck

Check the emission sticker on the core support that the radiator attaches to. It's a white sticker with black lettering just to the right of the hood latch. Should say 5.9L or 5.2L or 6.??L for the V10 right?

i used to have reg cab 2001 ram 4x4, had the 318 with 5speed manual tranny, wth flowmaster exhaust, it sounded awesome, and i was very happy with it. My dad still has his 2001 Dodge ram 1500 2wd quad cab SLT, stock, has about 140,000 miles on it, and its a gas sucker, tranny dont shift to good in the first couple of gears, but all and all, its a good truck.

just bought a 96 with the 318, 168k and runs great! very impressed as being a ford man all my life being used to the ford 5.0. did started hearing a valve tick or something...trying to figure that out

Ive got an 01' extended cab with a 318 and I love it. And id love it even more if I had the money to do some more mods...lol!

got a good motor, attached to a bad transmission. my dad has had it rebuilt twice!(only 99500 miles on it)
