This ones got me very confused!?!

I'm in serious need of new leaf springs for my 1988 Dodge Diplomat. I need to know what type of spring pad I have before I order new springs.

The original pads are about 2"x4" of rust with a thick rubber block in the middle. This pad is also the lower shock mount. I would like to replace this crusty item along with the springs but I don't know what it is.

Any information would be greatly appreciated,

-Sean

there may be a couple of places to find those - but try this place

they are called "Shockfinders" and have been around since 1936

1.800.344.1966

(I think they are in Colorado)

anyway, they have a lot of Dodge shocks, XHD, load levelers, air / coil / and leaf springs ....

another place that might have them is called Kanters

not sure that they have leaf springs, but the call is free so what the heck

1.800.526.1096

they DO have a lot of suspension parts (like front end rebuilding kits, ball joints, bushings etc.)

Good luck

Have you tried your local dealer yet, these may still be available. You may still be able to get the police leaf springs as well, had a buddy put these into his Cordoba a few years ago.

Almost finished with this one.

The spring pad I needed is called "Iso-Clamp". I've ordered just about everything I need from Espo's Springs 'N Things. They even had the Iso-Clamp bushings in polyurethane.

I asked my mechanic to order the rest of the Iso-Clamp assembly and he freaked out. He said it's a rare special part that can't be ordered. He's afraid to install the new springs, he will do it, but he's very scared right now. A racer friend of mine said that the parts were probably still available from the dealer.

I don't want to hurt my mechanic's feelings, but I'll ask a local Dodge parts department for the parts that I still need. If he can't do the work I'll have the racer's shop do the installation.

Thanks,

Sean
