Van Shows and Info

Denim, no I don't goto van-ins, yet. I just found that pic. surfing the net. I already knew about showtrux site. Once I get my RamVan fixed up, I will probably cruise by some.

One of most common misunderstood things about a van-in is you don't need a full custom showstopper to go to a van-in. There are far more average vans ad even junk yard escapees there. What really matters is that you're there. Don't wait until your vans done (they never are!), you're missing out on a lot of fun.

Ya think? LOL I still remember my very first van-in, Bowling Green 1975. After 200 more I retired in 1995 but made the trek down to Kevins gig last year and ran into so many old friends that I am going back again this year. I was hoping to have my show van back on the road to take it but that ain't gonna happen. Had a problem getting my new crate motor so I guess another week or two after 12 years in storage isn't gonna make a difference

Thanks for info guys. As far as the one coming up down the road from me, I might make there on one day, as I'm right in the middle of a long overtime stretch at work. We just had a new warehouse built, so we have to empty the old one, plus the rental we have (I'm a shipper/receiver), and I've already committed to it. So for the next 3 weeks, I only have 1 day off/week, but I will try and get there....

Gotta stop and smell the roses dude...............

I'll be at the 34th Natz this year!!!! I was hoping to get my '77 up and running, but it looks like I'll be driving my '94.

As far as going to a van-in, (newby here) do I register, or just show up. Is it all about just being there, or being out on the field, with the show vehicles?? I don't want to register, and find out the party is in the parking lot, ya know..

Its at a campground and the show is a very small part of it, just Saturday afternoon. Friday and Saturday night there are bands, games and all kinds of stuff. Saturday night there is a Wet t-shirt and an anything goes contest
You don't need to pre-register. You can show up and pay at the gate.

Van-fest is supposed to be one of the best, go over to vannin.com or showtrux.net to find out some info.

Be warned, once u go to 1, you'll be hooked and going to as many as u can. Have fun.

Ill be at the Van Nats in Va this july also. Ill have to look ya up Nate, missed ya last year.

Cool thanks, hope more people here see it, its too far for me other wise I would be there, some year maybe.

After a 13 year hiatis of going to truck-ins I showed up last year and blew alot of people away. There was only 3 or 4 guys that knew I was going. It was great to see alot of old friends for the 70's and 80's there. Kevin puts on a great weekend. I was hoping to have my show van back toggether for this year but it doesn't look like it is going to happen but I hear the New Boop Coop will be done and also George Barris is supposed to show up and I believe SuperVan will be there. As far as right now Ivan will also have the Cosmic Cruiser there. I put a new set of power steering pumps in the Cruiser last week so he should be good to go

A new boop coop?, Ive been in the red one in Mighigan, what a good night that was, i think there was like 20 of us riding around in it.
Ive only seen the criuser in pics, would be nice to see it in person, Supervan doesnt do anything for me, I guess it would be cool to see though.

Yes, Dave has been building a chop with the roof made into a T-bar at the back and a hot tub in it. I was up at his house last summer and saw it when it was about half done but he is almost finished it now. He has pictures posted over at www.vandomain.com
He had Ann Maries Chop at my house last fall for my 25th Anniversary.

Her chop is sweet, I got to look at it all last month, it was on the May Calender page, not to mention she doesnt look to bad in the bikini posing with the van. Do u have a vannin.com calender. Doug, up in Canada makes them, they come out awesome. My van has been in it the last 2 years.

Why dont u make it down to the van nats this year dually, bring the mini, would love to see it in person, I remember it from the magizine years ago. Can it fit in the back of that 5th wheel, is it a 'toy hauler'? If not, it can't hurt to drive it all the way down, like the good old days. What did u drive to Van-fest last year?

Ok, Me and a buddy from work are going to make the small trip. We finish work friday morning, so we can get a little sleep before we leave, and I can wash my van. So as far as parking in the campground, kind of a first come first served, just hunt you down and park with ya.....
