I got a quote today, to tint the back 5 windows in my RamVan. It was more then I was expecting, but the tinter said he would reduce price some if I removed window latches. So I started with the back door, and popped the pins out with no problem. Then I ran into probs. with slider door, so I went to driverside (middle) window. More stuborn pins, here too. I finally got 1 pin to move about 1/8" and I heard a bang, followed by the sound of glass breaking. Damn it, I broke it. CURSE SWARE CURSE. Thats the tragic part. I've now got other plans for that window, but its covered with plywood right now, painted blue. So I painted the slider glass blue aswell. I need to find a rust and dent free slider anyways, and I cant remove pins. Ironicaly, I just saved large coin, because now I only have to tint 3 rear windows....DOH

When we purchased our 2001 B2500 12-passenger with just over 60k, we asked the place how much to tint all the windows. We have three of the very long windows and 4 barn door windows (with the pins). Cost done in Rochester, NY for them all was $375USD total. The tint level was just a shade darker than factory double tint like the mini-vans. BUT, not limo balck out tinted.
I must say, it was worth the money. I don't have to blast the A/C every minute during a summer ride. Here's what it looks like: ![]()

Looks good. My quote was $230. Thing is, I've blown my budget all to hell this week, with buying new rims and rubber. I just wanted to save a little, a do some of the work myself. Ohwell....

Now that isn't a bad price of $230, even in Canadian discount dollars! lol
Plus, you only have 4 big windows and two small. Well, your slider door has more window surface area compared to my two barn doors. With the price I got on mine, if the tinting curled or air bubbles appeared, it would be covered for 60 days. I only had very teenie tiny bubbles, that after three or so days disappeared. This is normal, I was told, when I picked up the van. If you have small children, tie their hands down for a period of time while riding in the van. lol

Tinting them your self isnt too hard to do. Cleaning the glass real good first is important, them use a mixture of soapy water to apply it, squagy the water out, and in a few days the little water bubbles do disaper.
The butterfly windows in the front are the hard ones, the rest are relativly simple. U can get en tire kit at Pep Boys, or any large auto parts store.

I've tried tinting in the past. No luck with that. It's only gonna cost me $150 to tint the rear 3 windows. I'm not doing the front door windows. I noticed that my rubbers are shot. They're on the winter to-do-list.
