I have a chrome bumper with the black plastic strip around the top (see pic)

Some of the tabs that hold the strip down are broken (for whatever reason / previous owner) and at certain speeds, the vibration noise is something I can notice

I also have a black strip on the rear bumper

but I just happened to notice today that another newer Van had a solid chrome rear bumper

Was there different front bumpers as well ?

Think I could buy just a new black rubber strip to fix it or will I need to replace the whole thing ?

Both of my Ram Vans, 2000 B1500 and 2001 B2500, have the black plastic strip on the bumpers. Of course these are passenger vans. Your 2000 B1500 is the same as my DW's.

I have noticed that many of the cargo vans usually have the all chrome bumpers. But then again I've seen a few selected Ram Vans that were just the opposite.

It's been awhile since I had installed the trailer wiring on both of the vans. The black trim should be easy to either replace or repair.

I got one of the flat side flimse strips on the body that fell off of my B2500. The adhesive gave out. I'm glad that I found the piece on the ground next to the van. Once I get a good wash job, I'll be putting this back on. Mine is on one of the side barn doors. I've notice you have the same flat molding trim. Our B1500 is a full conversion with upgraded moldings.

The all-chrome rear bumper was the optional step-bumber that was available on Ram Vans and Ram Wagons.

Most cargo vans came through with the gray painted bumpers and grille...the bright finish was optional on Ram Vans but standard on Ram Wagons.

You can buy the strip seperately. You may be able to use the strip from a 94-97 van but with the changes in the front end from 98-03, I'm not 100% sure they'll interchange. I'm sure the p/n number is molded to the underside.

Hey! I found a place that carries the bumper trim!

http://www.cpcparts.com/products/res...0Bumper%20Pads

They have it for either rear step or for the non-step bumper.
