i am getting a strange noise coming from either the diveshaft or rear end. it sounds like clunking and ? . new u-joints about 4 months ago.

Check them again just in case. It's possible that maybe one of the u-joint straps have come loose.

Most likely the rear pinoin bearing. If you get slightly on the gas and then let off, does it have a sort of "moaning or whinning" sound? This is usually the pinion bearing. Check the drive shaft at both ends for any play. Is this a 2wd or 4wd?

my vehicle is a 1990 ram B350 2wd. how long till i have to fix this bearing?
