painting wheels

This is sort of a continuation of a previous question. I have bought some gloss black caliper paint to paint the wheels of my 2003 dakota. My question is if anyone out there thinks it would look decent and wear well. I don't want it to chip, crack, fade or look bad after I pain them. I was reading the label for the pain and it says that it is chip resistant and heat resistant. I'm just looking for a chep upgrade for my wheels. I welcome any advice on this project and whether it is realisticly something I could do myself. Thanks for your input.

I would suggest that you put on a thin layer of clear coat after the paint dries. This will help to protect the paint. At leat if you chip the clear coat, you can fix it easier than trying to fix chipped paint.

Also, make sure that you let both the paint and the clear coat cure for a couple of days before driving. Otherwise dust and sand particles will 'pit' the finish.

This stuff is the best... Part No. WP103
